Very Rare Jerusalem Style Roman Herodian Oil Lamp
Directly from Jerusalem, an ancient Biblical Roman Herodian "Jerusalem style" clay oil lamp. Two incised lines and two concentric circles on nozzle. Rim around shoulders and around filling hole. Small hole under nozzle. A smilar model is present at Feshka too, in a setting corresponding to Qumran II as well as at Hesbon.

THE LITTLE HOLE FOUND OCCASIONALLY ON THE FLAT TOP SURFACE NEAR THE NOZZLE AS THE ONE WE HAVE WAS USED FOR PLACING A PIN IN TO DRAW THE WICK OUT AS IT BURN AWAY

A VERY RARE AND IT WOULD MAKE A CENTER PIECE "SPECIMEN" TO THE FINEST OIL LAMP COLLECTION

Dated from, 37 BC - 70 AD "Time of Jesus and King Herod the Great" Condition: Intact, not repaired and not restored

Measurements: Length: 9 cm - Width: 6.5 cm
