Aweidah Gallery is pleased to offer this EXTREMELY RARE- ancient LARGE biblical black pottery oil lamp with four nozzles. A large filling-hole, whose rim is formed as a ledge with a ridge. The handle is a wide strip with two lengthwise grooves forming three raised mouldings, the nozzles are elongated with an almost straight end and finely scraped sides. From Jerusalem, a very attractive Talmudic period pottery torch, dating to the 6th Century AD

The torch is nicely and richly decorated with incised decoration of large palm branches all around and burning marks from the inside
